Gertraud Ingeborg       (click name for complete bio)

Originally from Knittelfeld, Austria, Gertraud has been working for the stage as an actress, director and producer since 1986. For the Sydney Theatre Company she performed in Streetcar Named Desire with Cate Blanchett, directed by Liv Ullmann, which toured Washington and New York, Manna (Wharf 2LOUD), Thyestes and This Little Piggy (Blueprints). She has many leading roles to her credit including Mother Courage and Mary Stuart in Darcia Maraini’s Mary Stuart, Mrs Snelgrave in One Flea Spare, premiered Belle in Angelika Fremd’s new piece, Belle of the Cross, played Micheleine in Splendour by Abi Morgan, Beverly in the new play Bumming with Jane (Belvoir St Downstairs), and Grace in Vigil (Old Fitzroy Theatre).

She has worked in Bolzano, Italy, (Theater im Hof) playing the mother in Night Mother and did her first one-woman show Oskar and the Lady in Pink by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt.

Gertraud directed Siberia (Lookout Theatre), The Bald Prima Donna (Manly Theatre), Punch and Judy (Sidetrack and Manly Theatre) and Ritter, Dene, Voss (New Theatre). Her film credits include a leading role in the popular film, Fifteen Amore.

As a producer for Harlos Productions Gertraud has brought many European plays to the Sydney audiences including Stallerhof, Quartet, Shakespeare in the Sex Shop, Visiting Hours and Bedford Drive 1941. From 2002 Gertraud concentrated on plays by Shakespeare with very successful seasons at the Bondi Pavilion, over 10 years.

Voice Work :

Recently Puyi, The Last Emperor of China, which he narrated, won the Gold Medal in Toronto for Best Documentary.

He has worked for the ABC, BBC, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, ZDF, NPR. Channel 4, & NHK, among others.

David is the male voice in The Lyric Voice – the innovative & highly acclaimed 15 ep. programme, devised & produced by Phil Carrick, featuring literature from 1400 to yesterday, which was twice aired nationally on ABC Classic FM in 2008. Another series is planned this year by demand.

Academic :

Ist-class Honours Degrees in English Literature and in Drama (Natal) ;

an MA & and an M.Phil (both with disinction) (Leeds).

Before concentrating exclusively on acting and directing, David also worked for many years as Tutor, Lecturer & Senior Lecturer at universities in South Africa, England & Australia.

Johannes Swaton                         (click name for complete bio)

With a BA and MBA in business administration, Johannes looks after the finance and administrative side of Harlos Productions . Having attended short courses at the AFTRS and NIDA in technical production,  he has also been actively involved back stage for over  twenty years, either operating lights and sound or stage managing.
